DIVORCE CASE NUMBERS

Share

THE FIRST STEP IN OBTAINING DIVORCE DOCUMENTS

It is absolutely imperative to have a divorce case-number when you need to obtain copies of your divorce records. Without a case number you, or us, will not be able to get the divorce documents! PLEASE… don’t ask us to get the papers without the case number! Rather pay us to attempt to get the divorce case number on your behalf.

WHERE DO I GET THE DIVORCE CASE NUMBER?

You MAY (or not…) obtain the divorce case-number from your nearest Home Affairs Office. You will need a day or two off work and details such as full names and ID-Numbers (both parties if possible) and at which court the divorce was granted. A date will help, or at least the year and month. They will ONLY be able to supply you with the divorce case number, but they CAN NOT get you the divorce records! Not all Home Affairs offices can, or will, assist.

All divorce case numbers are unfortunately not always listed on the Department’s system. If the applicable court and / or attorneys did not send the details of the divorce to the Department, it will simply not be listed. Again the older the case the more likely it is that it’s not.

WE MAY BE ABLE TO HELP…

We may be able to get the divorce case-number on your behalf. We do not guarantee this however. You will have to request this service, make the applicable payment and allow for at least 5 days turn-around time. If we are not successful in obtaining your divorce case number, we will then immediately refund 80% of the amount paid. We will also provide you with a written report on the reason(s) for failing, and possible future actions to consider.

Once we do have the case number, we will proceed with our efforts to obtain the divorce records / documents from the applicable court, covered by Divorce RPD (Gauteng, Limpopo, North West, Mpumalanga and the Western Cape)
